I am getting steam from my reservoir tank.

I've checked the temp of the coolant and it isn't getting to hot. Thermostat has been replaced and checked with boiling water, rad has been flushed and burped, all hoses are in good shape with no leaks. Fans come on as they should... But I'm getting excessive steam from the reservoir tank breather hole. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thank you.

have it checked for a head gasket leak

The head gasket is new. We replaced it in January. When we did the change we used an oem gasket and put a bead of "liquid" gasket in the recessed groove. How would I check that to make sure we didn't goof it up? And why would that be the reason I'm getting steam from my reservoir tank? I'm not all that mechanically inclined, so I'm just trying to understand. Thank you very much for your help.

you aren't supposed to be putting liquid gasket in a recessed groove on a head gasket they are self sealing. and you may be getting the steam because the head gasket can be on upside down and or the head may be warped and not a flat surface.
