I just finished replacing the spindle, wheel bearing, hub and roter on my girlfriends tiburon. She hit a pot hole and almost rolled her car. This busted the wheel bearing and since she did not tell me it also caused damage to the spindle and hub. Now that I have it all back together, the engine reves up and there is a pause before the tires start to spin. Then the tires start to spin, but in a few seconds the tires will stop spinning again while the engine is still reved.

Any ideas?

Check and make sure that the axle back in the tranny
as it is possible that came out of the tranny side

The axle still appears to be in the tranny. With the drive shaft nut off, there is a slight give when I pull or push on the axle. It will not come out, and it does not go in and stay in when I push in on it. Should I wack it with a hammer or something? is it possible that either of the joints are out of alignment?
