Hi, I am not a expert on cars by far, but my 2003 Sonata started running rough and getting gradually louder and one day just eventually stopped running. It turns out that all my problems happened because of a small water leak. My water pump leaked onto my balance shaft belt, which broke and wrapped around my crank sensor, which in turn broke and caused the timing belt to break. I just wanted to share this with you so you can keep an eye on your water pump. It cost me almost $700 to get this fixed on my car. Good luck with your car. I love mine. It ran like a brand new car after I got it out of the shop.
