2002 Hyundai Sonata Re: Installation of front struts.

Hello - Are you talking about item 16 in the pic? If you are.......well, if it were me I would.......only because all these parts are made to fit against each other a certain way. This is to absorb a large amount of bumps and stress to that strut. If it is installed wrong, then the way the item was made may not be as effective and actually tear due to the way the stress is being applied. Yes I know, it is a pain in the back side. Not too long ago I change the struts on my car 3 times. Yes, 3 times...........was it fun........NO............did it finally fix the problem.......yes, which is why now when I work on struts........it ALL gets replaced new. Now the funny thing on this one though, the brand new shock, excellent name brand, was defective.........but that is the way it goes....... Up to you.......your ride.........my advice.........change it.........

Hey also, it looks like you may have some recalls on your vehicle. The dealer may fix these for free. Please contact the dealer service department, give them the VIN number of your car and have them check on these to see if they apply to you.
