Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. About 6 months ago - my SVU was running terribly on my short drive home - I was loosing acceleration and eventually the car came to a complete stop - it felt like the brakes had totally locked - the brake pedal was hard and had absoluately no movement in it. I had it towed to the dealership that were at a loss since the computer said nothing - the figured it was a seal (I believe in the brake area - sorry my woman knowledge) and they sent me on my merry way. Several weeks later - same thing - I had it towed, they found nothing wrong and replaced nothing. A couple of months later, the brakes were extremely loose - like they had air in the lines - I had to use the emergency brake to stop that car on a hill with my kids in the car...not happy - drove it to the dealership - they test drove it and said it was something else and they didn't have the part ...blah it got fixed up. That was 6 months ago - every now and again - the brakes go loose a couple of days later the brakes are extremely hard to push and then it seems to fix itself. Today, the car played up again as the original problem - I was attempting to do 100km on the highway and it slowly went down to 60km with my foot flat to the floor - I was able to pull over on a side street where everything again locked up. I had it towed to the dealer - who said it was running normally - its sooo weird, it's like it resets itself.

So this was so wordy - I'm tired of the dealership treating me like I'm just a dumb woman who knows nothing about cars - (mechanic's daughter so I have a bit more than the average gal). The dealership keeps telling me that there is nothing wrong because nothing shows up on the computer - meanwhile, I've had my kids in the car twice when this has happened and we are all scared to death.

Any ideas what the heck is causing this so I can direct the dealer in the right direction.

I don't believe the brakes need replacing since they are regularly inspected by the dealership on the routine oil changes and I'm really not hard on them since I gear down instead of braking all the time.

Many many thanks

Where the brakes ever replaced? What new parts? This sounds like your calipers, or flex hoses, NO computer can read problems with these parts! Drive it till it starts to bind or you notice drag, jack that wheel up, chock the rear wheels, put it in neutral, does the wheel spin, if not or it's hard to turn, open the bleeder screw, does it spin freely now? if yes, replace the flex hose, I recommecnd doing the same work to BOTH front brakes, this will elimante any issues with pulling to one side! Also both fronts are the same age and condition, if you don't do both now, you will real soon!
When it goes soft, it could be brake fade due to overheating! NEVER try to drive 100 MPH in any Hyundai! Especially one with poor brakes!
