Suddenly it surges while stopped at a light, missing, but only intermittenly, Brake light comes on goes off for no apparent reason

Two separate problems.
1. Idle surge: Check your idle air control motor and throttle position sensor. If good, check for vacuum leak.
2. Brake light: Check brake master cylinder reservoir. If low with no visible leak, raise vehicle, remove wheels, and check brake pads.
