I have a 2003 hyundai Sonata 6cyl 75,000 that is making a grinding noise from the passenger side rear wheel. I have inspected the brakes and they appear ok. I have noticed however that the rotor is warped. I can't tell how badly because i have not removed it yet. Ca na warped rotor cause this type of noise? The grinding neither lessens or worsens when the brakes are applied. Braking seems even and there is no pulling to either side. Thank you for any help.

Rarley can you see a warped rotor to identify it. You would certainly feel it in the pedal when braking. There is probably something rubbing on the rotor.

True. The way i suspect rotor warp is after i pulled the tire, i spun the wheel several times and there is a definate rub pause rub noise as i spin the wheel. Gonna remove it today and take it to a mechanic shop. The wheels noise has begun to subside. Is it possible that the bearings need to be packed/replaced?

Usually it would make a hum when a bearing goes bad. Isn't that a sealed unit on that one?

i would also have your technician check for rust on rotors contactig caliper and check the emergency brake pads behind the rotor, make sure theres no rust and check pads to see if there seized

YEah, good point, the e-brakes shoes have been known to let loose in various forms that would do that.
