Hello, My car is a sonata 2001, with about 131,000 khm. the engine codes are p-0135,p-0141,p-0446.
that would be the o2 sensors for the first two and then the sensor for the gas over flow thingy.These have all been replaced with new ones. here is the mystery with new sensors you clear computer start car everything ok no more engine lite. but if I turn off the car and restart it the engine lite comes on. this is wierd. any ideas my mechanic is about to give up.

thanks

Changing the O2 sensors will not help. This is usually caused by flatulence factors triggering the CO2 sensors. Also, sometimes the Nitrogen and Sulphur-rich compounds from flatulence may trigger the sensor.

Another Sonata mystery solved.

Ha ha Not so funny considering how much time and money this has caused me.

time=3days like 9am to 8pm
money= 800 dollars

lets see if this helps

rpms sometimes drop when driving at a regular speed like 60 kph. car chokes sometimes too. also have replaced the coil and the wires about a week before all this started.

please no more stupid jokes.

ps the gas thingy is evap vent control problem.

thanks john

John, I have the same problem with my 2000 sonata. Did you find any codes for the transmission? I took my car to an auto shop and they found code po711. It seems to be an oil temperature sensor which they said will make the car "cut out" . I haven't had it fixed yet. I was wondering if you ever found the source of your problem.
