How do you access the fuel filter?

Hyundai Accent 1998 300,000+km 4cylinder fuel injection 1.6

How do you access the fuel filter to replace it? I've found the "secret compartment" under the rear seat but the fuel filter is out of site. Where is it located and what is the easiest access to it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the fuel filter should be under the hood, on the passengers side, mounted on the firewall
