car keeps running, and running, and runnig....

Hello, my housemate recently got a 89 excell from here brother for christmas, it is the carby based 5 door(1.5). It has a very bad problem or running on after its turned off. There is a cut wire that runs to the base of the carby, but not sure if it is a fuel cutoff, a vacum hose that is blocked but goes nowhere, and it had the auto choke linkage disconnected. Now when you turn the car off it can run on for up to 3 minutes. I have a feeling it is the carby, and am kinda hoping to avoid getting her to shell out $30 for a manual as she is a student. Any help or ideas would be gratly appricated

I don't think by fixing but by hitting this system you could have damaged it. And yes you very easily could have. Give them a call and ask the price to replace the system and then get someone else's price as well. Usually a pretty pricey event.
