Engine problem
2002 Hyundai 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown 97000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to replace my timing belt and tensioner. I hit a snag in the process. I'm trying to relieve some tension and remove the pivot bolt on the right of the tensioner. I tried a pry bar and screw driver and tried to lift up the right side of the tensioner to relieve some tension. However, it won't budge at all. I thought maybe if i loosened the other bolt on the right side of the tensioner, it would then be able to adjust the tension. The bolt will not budge at all. I don't want to grind down the thread on the bolt. Breaker bar and serpentine belt tool won't work. I have a 2002 hyundai accent 1.6L. There is a spring underneath the bolt on the left side of the tensioner. Any help is greatly appreciated.
