2010 Hyundai i10 Manual 19.11 miles

My driver drove the all new i10 era on its very first road drive for about 50 kms with hand brakes/parking brakes ON!:(What are the possible damages? how to identify them? what will be cost of repairs? is this covered under warrenty?

Hi msdtime,

This is a user error and is not covered under warranty.

If the handbrakes hand been fully engaged, the brakes would most probably have failed at the end of the trip due to the overheating.

Damages would be on :

1. Brake shoes or pads.
2. Caliper or slave cylinder seals.
3. Drum/rotor.
4. Wheel bearings.

Cost of repair would depend on the parts that require replacement.

If you are lucky, the handbrake was not fully engaged, then it is possible there would be lesser damage. An inspection of the system would be required.
