I just bought a 2008 elantra brand new and it now has about 3500 miles. I noticed two days ago a lod whistling/chirping/sqeualing like noise under the hood on the passenger side of the car...brought it in to the dealer and now they are saying it is a bad water pump. I am concerned that since this car is brand new and it has a bad water pump could this problem have caused potentially other unwanted problems. The dealer is going to fix but how do I know it did not do further damage to my cara and how did it go bad to begin with?
