Hello CarPros
Last weeke end I did Brake rotor and pad replacement. I purchased OEM rotor from Pepboys store. While putting new rotors on HUB, I found that the there was little flange on hub where old rotors were nicely and too securely fit. However, the new rotor does not fit on to flange. Flange diameter is little bigger than hub diameter may be by 1 mm(milimeter). So I was looking at the videos on carpros and in video I did not see the rotor was being fitted too tight on such flange. I mean rotor was just freely put on hub and then caliper and pads were installed. I did exactly the same thing. I have driven my car about 150 miles so far. I have not noticed any problem. However, following question comes in mind and make me nervous when ever I drive this car.
The question is old rotor were too tightly secure on flange on the hub however new rotor did not mount on flange even after havey hammering. Will this cause problem such as breaking lug nut or tier coming out while driving due to not putting new rotor on flange?
ANy insight is appreciated.
Thanks a lot
Sanjay
