maintenance question

Automatic 122000 miles

Hi, We are looking at a car to buy, but were wondering due to the lack of previous maintenance if there will be problems down the road? The car just had everything fixed (engine flushed, spark plugs replaced, timing belt, ect) and is in good condition now - if we kept up the regular maintenance, will it be ok?

I'm not sure about your car, but i bought an 2002 elantra GT new and have maintained it as good as I can. (i.e.Changing oil filters, fluids, timing belt, etc). I have just turned over 192,000. I just got it back from the dealer yesterday (routine maintenance) and they said the car is in great shape for it's age and mileage and should last much longer.

I my opinion, if you take care of your car, your car will take care of you.

I also have a new 2006 elantra gt and it now has 65,000 mi. and again it's running great.

I'm not a mechanic, but if the car was neglected up until the time you bought it, than, in my opinion, your're taking your chances that everything is ok on it. Have you had it completely checked out by a mechanic? If so, did he find anything wrong?

If you did have it checked out and he didn't find any problems, you might just luck out and have a car that will last you for awhile.
