I recently took my car in to have the timing belt replaced, and they found there was brownish sludge in my radiator and some leaks. Long story short, I ended up replacing the head gasket, freeze plugs, thermostat, and water pump, in addition to the timing belt and new spark plugs, and also had the cooling system flushed and oil changed. Within a couple days I noticed a whining sound, so I went back and they said the tensioner for my timing belt was too tight. They adjusted it, and the sound went away for a couple days. Then yesterday it got cold and rainy, and the whine is back, plus now my heater doesn't work. I already paid these guys $1300, and they guarantee their work for 30 days, but I need to know what they should be doing, since obviously they are doing something wrong.
