2001 Hyundai Elantra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

oil plug is striping threads when i have oil changed..
I have replaced the oil 1ce before and now the same thing is happening again.. should i keep replacing the oil pan or is there another way something fast before i go out of town

Yes you can fix it in one of two ways. You can retap the pan with new threads and get an oversized plug, or the easier way, a "Pan Saver Plug". The pan saver has a rubber plug that pushes through the drain hole and then a wing nut that when you tighten it, compresses the rubber in the pan against the pan itself so it doesn't leak. It is a very easy fix with one of these.

Call your local parts store and ask if they have them. The brand we have are actually called "Pan Saver" and your parts store may not recognize that name, so you may have to describe it to them.
