2000 Hyundai Elantra Timing belt questions

Hello, 2000 hyundai elantra died going down the road, no noises or anything, would not start after this. I have loosened the timing belt cover and while trying to start the engine the crankshaft pulley turns, but the belt does not turn neither does the camshaft sprocket. I can't see the idler or tensioner but can feel alot of slack in the belt. So i am leaning toward the tensioner being messed up, but have to get the whole cover off to see what is going on. Is this an interference engine? 2.0 4cyl dohc. Any tips or things to check out that I have missed?

Bad news. The timing belt has given way. The belt at crankshaft end should be missing due to them shearing off.

This is an interference engine and to confirm if the valves are affected, check the valve clearances. If any is abnormally out of specs by a large margin, the valves have been damaged and you would have to remove the cylinder for repairs.
