I'm trying to change my fuel filter on my hundai elantra. I have the Haynes manual but the instructions aren't too clear. I've removed the top fuel line from the filter, but I can't seem to get it out. Looking at the replacement filter, it seems that the bottom part of the filter is threaded onto the fuel line it's connected to there. However I can't seem to get the filter to twist free from the line. I tried getting in there with 2 wrenches(one for the line, one for the filter) to twist it free, but there is barely enough room and it still will not budge.
It might just be the impossibly small amount of space that I have to fit 2 wrenches underneath the fuel filter.
I have a few questions:
We took a picture of under the filter to see what it looks like below, and the fuel line beneath the filter looks partly twisted about 2 inches below the filter(see attached image.) Is this supposed to be a solid line, or is it a rubber line that is able to twist? Did I break something? :(
Has anyone had any experience replacing one of these that might be able to give some advice? Am I doing this wrong somehow?
