For 5 years this car has been as trouble free, as can be expected. The temperature gauge has two tiny dots on the face of it and the needle has always pointed exactly between these dots, after the car warms up. Whether the a/c is on or not (usually on) or its a hot day, the needle has always been exactly in the middle. Two days ago I noticed the gauge was reading cooler, enough to cover the lower dot, then returned to its normal position after a short time, then the next day it did it again.I worry about this mostly because the gauge has been so prescise untill now. The car seems to run ok, but at the time this happened, it was half a quart low on oil and its overdue for filter replacement, air filter looked ok. Coolant has never been changed. I use high octane gas. What's this gauge telling me?
