HVAC only blows through dash vents?

HVAC only blows through dash vents. Can you pop open the barn door / trap door through the dash vent somehow or pop the control cables off the servo's plastic wheel. It's 25 years old. I don't really want to dig in too much.

Yep, it sounds like the mode actuator is not working here is the location so you can swap it out, you might be able to rig it, so it stays in the position you want but you won't be able to change it on the fly to well. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
