I can no longer adjust the temperature in my car (LTZ model) no matter if I am in or out of the auto mode. It seems I can only get air to flow through the defroster using full defrost the rest of the time air goes through the AC vents.
In auto mode if I turn the temperature either way to the far right or left the fan goes full speed blowing out cold air.
The fan switch works on in either mode.
I am wondering if replacing the entire control unit is what I need to do or if the problem could be something else?

I hate to spend the money on the unit if it will not fix the problem.
Thank you.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a mode blend door actuator that is no longer working which is common. Here is a guide to show you step by step how to do the job and a diagrams below to show the location of unit in you car:

I have seen a direct replacement work perfect but if not you will need to have the actuator initialized at a shop for about $130.00 Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken

Thanks Ken, it is a cheaper part to start with at least! Now to see if I can find it and how hard it is to get to!
