HVAC actuator driver's side

Purchased a new driver's side under dash actuator (part is same housing is way different, new one came single actuator old one came out with a housing attached that fits into a pancake like circle with prongs that fit onto it. The new one does not have housing, was this the correct part at all? Or do I have to take it apart and place a new one on it? I’m lost, the pic is the old one and it attaches to an arm like and then the pancake white thing it attaches… So, the new actuator came as just the black box no housing it is a small blue thing on the back. I’m confused.

Which actuator were you trying to buy? There are a few different actuator assemblies on that system. It looks like the mode control. The one that selects floor, dash and defrost positions like the picture? If so and you instead got a bare actuator like the second image. You can remove the arm and the screws and swap the bare actuator you got onto the original support. All of them use the same drive motor, just the pieces attached are different. To save money you can get just the bare drive, or you can pay more to get the complete unit.

I got the single however on the original that has the housing I seen no way for it to come loose, was afraid it was made together, and I would break it (even took it to an auto parts tech) they couldn’t order it. I found 1- rock auto. Will this help with temperature control? Or is this the wrong actuator for that? I’m trying to figure out why the driver's side is not cold just cool passenger side is cold. I had the A/C checked nothing wrong except drivers' side is not cold.

The arm that moves should just pop out of the drive, it snaps into the yellow piece on the new one and then the screws are under it.
