Humidity off the ground, transmission pan is off will the rain ruin my transmission

I would use some cleaner on the part you can see before you install the filter and the pan.

I doubt it will damage it. You should never leave the pan down at any time if you are away. Just put it back up with a couple of bolts to keep the weather out of it.

Well, had I known that I wouldn't have left it off, but it's been off for like 24 hours should I just throw a match in the gas tank or am I okay?

I put it back on, maybe not 24 hours but I wiped it clean and there was no moisture aside from the trans fluid dripping (just a little bit left now). Just don't know science well enough to know if humidity could have crept its way upwards and inside.

What cleaner would I use?

You can use Brake Kleen. Good stuff that will clean out everything and make it look new.

Okay but should I be concerned about moisture having got up, and in? I also can't get my filter down to replace it, could there be moisture in there?
It was down for that 24 hours but I was wiping it off and there wasn't a build of water, only trans fluid dripping. Since then it hasn't been exposed, pans been up whenever I'm not doing work under there. It has been wiped and has been consistently dry (water wise), aside from the transmission fluid of course.

There should be 2 screws holding the filter and then you need to pry it down to release the rubber seal.

No, I doubt it got up into the transmission to cause any damage.
