How to stop clutch leak

I paid the repair shop to put my clutch in. I picked it up drove home. The next morning my clutch was not working again so i had it towed back to the shop. He told me that. I needed a new master cylinder. I purchased that. It still did correct the problem. Then he said that the i needed i slave cylinder despite the that one came with the clutch. The people that I purchased the clutch exchange me for a whole new clutch kit. Now the mechanic says that the slave cylinder is faulty so now I'm left with a leaking clutch. My question is, how can this leaking be stopped because obviously he does not know?

Honestly, this is a good question. I need to know what is leaking on the slave. Is it leaking where the hydraulic line connects or is the slave itself leaking? I attached a picture of the slave cylinder and you will see that I circled two things. Those are the two places it can leak. One is the hydraulic supply hose that attaches to the slave and the other is the operating cylinder. If the internal components in the slave are bad, it will leak from the cylinder itself. If the hose is bad or not properly seated, it can leak from there.

If you look at picrtures 2 and 3, they are of the hydraulic clutch lines. In picture 3 I circled two brass washers that have to be replaced when it is taken apart. If they are not both replaced, it will leak. That fitting is known as a banjo fitting.

If there is a chance you could check where it is leaking, I could better help you. Also, you will most likely need to clean the area and refill the system to see where the leak originates.

Supplemental the mechanic also said my transmission could be bad now. My real question is in light of the fact that he has jumped from the master cylinder to slave cylinder to possible transmission adding to the fact that he let me drive off with all this going on. Did he scam me . i not a mechanic all i know is that paid the guy to fix my clutch and my clutch is not working.

If the transmission was okay before the repair, I can't see why suddenly it is bad. I would explain that you paid to have the clutch replaced and it doesn't work. Either they fix it or return your money. Remember, you catch more flies with honey. Be nice and see how they respond. If they refuse to fix or refund the money, then tell them you will have it repaired elsewhere and send them the bill.

When you first took it to them, what were the symptoms that required the new clutch to be installed? Was the clutch slipping, leaking, or was there a different issue?

Honestly, that isn't uncommon and the clutch and transmission are really two different components. If the transmission was okay before, replacing a clutch shouldn't have hurt it unless something wrong was done.

Yes, something wrong was done. The guy stole my transmission. I guess he did this type of action before and gets away with it. Thanks for your advice but it turns out i have been victimized.
