How to remove the front motor mount?

the two vertical nuts are where it goes together with the rubber in between. I need to separate the two brackets at that point, I was just wondering how to get the pieces apart where the rubber is. I have looked many places and a lot of people have the same problem. I think it is a GM secret, nobody seems to know the answer.

Can you get a couple pictures of what you are dealing with? If I understand you correctly, you are removing the two nuts and then you are trying to remove the mount? If this is the case, do you have a jack with a block of wood on the oil pan? If so, once you remove those nuts, you should be able to drop the engine using the jack.

I have the answer to this problem. Remove the motor mount on the engine ,three nuts then remove the studs. remove the two nuts that connect the mounts together, vertical nuts that connect the two pieces of the mount. then lower the engine down as far as you can. This will give you enough room to slip the belt around the mount. Put the belt on and put the bolts back in and you are done in an hour. I watched a mechanic do this to my 1999 Park Ave.
