how to remove brake light switch

Brake light switch clicks but does not engage lights, bulbs are ok. Cannot see how to remove the switch. Does the shaft need to come out in order to get the switch out. Do you have a step by step removal procedure or video?

we have no videos on this. we don't have any pics on this either but look for a clip that holds the switch on it may have to be pushed down then moved either forward/backward. It's kind of a funy looking clip that holds it. see pic arrows point to style of retainer
