How to remove alternator from a 2003 Lincoln Navigator?

you can check your own alternator while it is on the car. get a voltmeter and check the voltage with the engine running. it should be 14 to 14.5 volts

the top piece has 4 attaching bolts. they are 8 mm bolt heads. remove them and the plate moves. release the serp belt and just loosen the 2 lower bolts and the alternator lifts up

WE TOOK THE ALTERNATOR TO OREILYS AND THEY CHECKED IT AND SAID THAT IT COMES OUT THAT IT WORKS. BUT THE ALTERNATOR HAS A SMALL NOISE AND HAS ALOT OF GREASE. THE ALTERNATOR IS THE ORIGINAL BRAND MOTORCRAFT AND MY TRUCK IS 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR.WE TOOK THE BATTERY TO AUTOZONE AND THEY SAID IT IS WORKING. SO MY QUESTION IS WHAT COULD IT be. MY TRUCK STARTED TO TURN ON BATTERY NOT CHARGING IN RED THEN THE SPEEDOMETERS LIGHT STARTED TO TURN OF AND ON THEN WENT OFF COMPLETELY. THEN MY TRUCK WENT OFF DIDNT WANT TO TURN ON. THEN WE PUT CABLES ON THE TRUCK AND TURNED ON BUT IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO DO AGAIN WHAT I TOLD YOU AND TURNED OFF. SO PLEASE WHAT COULD IT BE. PLEASE HELP....

it sounds like the alternator is failing. dim lights, flickering lights and the red battery light are indicators.

I INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND NEW ALTERNATOR AND NOW MY TRUCK WORKS.

I HAVE A QUESTION. MY BROTHERS CAR HAS THE ETC LIGHT ON. ITS A MAGNUM 2007. HE ALREADY TOOK IT TO AN ELECTRICIAN AND THEY REPROGRAM IT. WELL ONE WEEK LATER THE LIGHT STARTED AGAIN. WHAT THE CAR DOES IS WHEN HE GETS TO A STOP SIGN AND TRIES TO GO . THE CAR DOESNT MOVE RIGHT AWAY IT TAKES SECONDS FOR THE CAR BE ABLE TO MOVE. PLEASE WHAT COULD IT BE??
