how to recognize that car is front wheel drive or rear wheel drive

hi sir my name is ali and i love cars well i mailing you to ask question a small question that by looking underneath the chassis for car is it possible to recognize that it is rear wheel drive or front wheel drive sir how can i know that my car is rear wheel drive can you give any indication from which i could know that my car is rear wheel drive by looking its under the chassis is there any mechanical part under the chassis from which i could know that it is rear wheel drive car well sir waiting for your humble reply thanks indeed

If you only have a drive shaft from the transmission to the rear diff it is rear wheel drive, if only drive shafts to both front wheels it will be front wheel drive if you have both shafts to front and rear wheels it will be all wheel drive.
