How to install spring into boot

Good afternoon.

The spring goes into the boot until it comes in contact with the coil. It is a preset length and there is nothing to adjust. It should not have come off the coil.

Can you post a picture of what you see and upload it?

Having trouble getting spring to go into boot far enough to reach plug.These are new boots and springs.The spring has to be installed into boots. Do not know how to put spring into boot.The spring will only go half way before they stop in boot. I need to know how to put spring in, without stretching the spring. I know that the spring goes in the top of boot but it will only go half way. What have I got to do in order to get the spring in to the boot? Thank you

Yes, some Vaseline inside the boot to help it slide in easier to the coil.

Thank you, I will try that. Thank . Just asking, what tool would you use to pull it through and would it hurt the spring if it stretch any to get it to the other end? Again thank you.

There is no tool to pull it through.

It is just recommended to use some sort of lube to install the spring.

I tried the lube and still did not go in all the way. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Ken

Did you use Vaseline? It is the only way to get it to go through.

Yes, and it still will not go through, still half way.

Can you use something to push it through? Maybe like a pencil?

If you do, you will collapse the spring and it will not contact the plug.

It sounds like you will be better off replacing the entire coil.

Each coil is eighty dollars. Nothing wrong with coils. Will have to figure out. It can be done, because they sell the boot and spring. But thanks for your time.

Thanks, looked at site. Found new coil and boots. This will be my last resort. I know that there has got to be a way to get that spring into the boot. I will have to figure out. No not yet ready to throw the towel in yet. Appreciate you very much. Again thank you.

In the future , after paying forty dollars to get it done, guess what? They did it like I was afraid to do. Using lube and a screwdriver. I hope that this will help others with the same problem. It was just that easy. Moral of this story, go with your gut. Again I thank you for your advice. Thank you
