I need to install a new radiator in a 1986 Lincoln Town Car & was wondering if I only need to unthread the radiator fitting in order to free the transmission cooler lines. On most Ford/Lincoln products that I've seen in the past, usually have the transmission cooler line threaded into the radiator fitting...where you can place a line wrench onto the radiator fitting while breaking loose the tranny cooler line with a different size line wrench.
I'll supply (2) photos and could you tell me if the way to break loose the tranny cooler line is to just loosen the radiator fitting? Also, there's a plastic (for sake of a better description...black looking clip) on the backside of the radiator fitting...does this serve a purpose in removing the tranny cooler line? Many thanks for assistance into this matter.
