I can't find any info on how tight to torque the Adjusting Nut that holds the front rotor and hub assembly to the spindle on my vehicle listed above.
I see posts from anywhere between 130 and 190 ft. lbs., but anything over 30ish and the wheel won't turn freely.
I find at 25 ft. lbs., it holds the rotor on nicely with no play and can still rotate rather wheel but does not spin freely.

Hi,

There are actually a few things to do. Once you have everything greased and back together, you need to tighten the spindle nut while turning the brake rotor. Once tight, you back off the nut to eliminate all preload and tighten the nut finger tight and install the retainer to prevent it from moving/coming off.

Take a look at the pic below. That is from the manual. Remember, when you torque the spindle nut, make sure to be turning the rotor. That will properly seat it.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe

See pics below Note: On pic 3 it indicates to install the spindle nut, install the tire/wheel, and then adjust. I never install the tire and wheel until after adjustment and everything is together. Also, don't place weight on the bearing until adjustment.
