The body peels around the door have some bad fading, I guess that is what it is, and I would like to know if there is a way to restore it or do I have to replace those particular sections? I've included photos. Thanks.

Hello,

It looks like the clear coat is gone on those areas.
There are many ways to restore this and have a verifying level of result.

One of the simplest methods would be to use a polishing compound to remove the oxidation and use wax to seal it in.
This will last for some time, depending on the weather and driving conditions.

I have used Meguiars ultimate compound to restore surfaces like this before. It works well and it is easy to use. Then you can use quality wax to keep the surface looking much better than it is.

Here is a link to the compound:

https://www.meguiars.com/automotive/products/meguiars-ultimate-compound-g17216-152-oz-liquid

There are videos on their website as well of how to use it and the best practices.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That compound is a little pricey for me though. Is there anything a little less expensive that will work?

A somewhat related question. Where would I find replacements for those body sections? I know that if they are out there, they would probably be expensive, but I just wondered how much they would cost if they were available. Thanks.

Your best bet would be to find one in a salvage yard, but I do think those might be part of a bigger piece like the panel.

As for the compound, the only reason I sent you that because I have personal experience using it.
There are other compounds you can probably find at your local auto parts store (Oreilly's, AutoZone, Napa etc.,).
Just go in and ask what is a good compound that is comparable to this product.
I know turtle wax has good quality compounds as well.
