how can I have my rear axle checked to find out if it is bent ?

I have been replacing bearing every year on passenger rear and am wondering if my axle is bent. Is there any way to check to see if it is straight before replacing ??

put on a lathe type device and use a runout gauge where bearing is. spin axle
