Horn not blowing after removing turn signal switch

I have a question but I am not trying to look for things going wrong. I was just wondering. I am replacing a turn signal switch and when I reconnected the electrical harness under the steering column than the battery. I put the steering wheel back on and horn pad. After that my horn would not blow. Did I do anything wrong or is it because the turn signal switch is disconnected?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com. I attached a schematic for your review. Based on the schematic and what you described, it seems the signal switch needs to be connected for the horn to work. Take a look at the wiring schematic I have attached.

Horn is working now. It is weird because I did not connect the two wires back into the turn signal harness yet.

Interesting, according to the schematic, the switch needs to be connected. It started working all by itself?

Yeah weird is it not? Someone tell me those two wires terminal 9 and 10 connected to the turn signal switch harness is for the key reminder if left in the ignition. So the horn worked after I tighten back on the steering wheel.

Glad to hear it works. Sometimes things work when they should not, lol. And other times, they do not work when they should. Cars are becoming very complex. Be glad yours is an 1989. The newer they get, the more complicated.
