Hood Release broken on 1997 XJ8 Jaguar

I have a 1997 XJ8 Jaguar which has a dual realease cables on the one lever located on the drivers side of the vehicle. The cable that realease the drivers side of the hood appears to be broken on the realease end under the hood. I have removed the guard panels in the wheel arch but ther appears to be no access through that point. Ther doesn''t appear to be any access up under the dash apart to feed the new cabe through.
