hood (bonnet) will not release

It's a Jaguar! Just kidding. My hood won't release due to one cable out of the two that is attached to the release latch is stretched. I say one because the right-side releases but not the left side. Anyway, I can release it manually.

It doesn't look that hard to do the job, I have found diagrams with instructions on how to change the latch, switch and hood release cable in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
