I own a 1997 Honda Prelude base model with 151k miles on it. When I stop at redlights, stop signs, ect the tach drops to around 800 rpms and the brake light and the battery light come on but when i flutter the gas to raise the rpms they go off. It has a cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, and a performance exhaust. I have a feeling that its the underdrive pulley doing it and all i have to do is raise the idle switch...just making sure this is correct before the car blows its top.
