84 Prelude 1.8L Dual Carb

It sounds like an engine rebuild is in order. You can try the timing chain/belt for the low compression won't hurt.

Redo the compression by using the wet and dry method.

I'm unaware of the wet dry method. Could you explain it for me please. And also were you refering to replaceing the timing belt? Do you think that the timing could be off, thus causing open valves allowing low cylinder pressure? Thanks T.L.

I assumed you've taking the readings without oil-meaning the dry method-do wet compression by injecting 2tblspn of 30 weight in the cylinders -if the reading is much higher than the dry-its pointing towards the rings-still low its coming from the valvetrain.

A problem with the chain/belt could cause low readings in all cylinders-the valves could be open-Open it up and do some detective work.

Or you can do a cylinder leakage test- Low compressions and minimal leakage points to valve timing being off due to the belt being off a notch or two.
