1997 Honda Prelude bad valves??

my car doesnt run so well the gas milage is bad and at idle it shoots out of the exhaust(doesnt flow like in other cars.when i was changing my header i noticed that all of my exhaust valves were white but one was black.Could i have a bad valve and how much is it to repair this kind of problem.thanks

Hi there, First thing to do is get a comp test done, check it wet & dry, this will prove if a valve is the problem, also check the valve clearances ,this is done cold, you may have a tight valve, see table for clearances. mark (mhpautos)
