Missing A/C fan

My son purchased this car with the A/C not working and the people that we purchased it from told us that all we needed is to purchase a fan and recharged the system with Freon. I have some people telling me that the engine cooling fan is also used for the A/C . Is this accurate? There is only one fan?

Hi curielv,

There should be 2 fans and for automatic models, both fans works when A/C is on and when the fan switch is activated.

Only 1 fan would be working if the temperature is high and the engine is turned off.
