I have a 1997 Honda Passport (3.2L, V6 engine, 141,989 miles), and it has failed smog due to (very) high emissions, specifically "HC" and "NO" emissions. I had a diagnostic run on it, which identified Catalytic converter and O2 sensor problems, on the right side. I replaced the entire right side emission system (pipe, cat converter, O2 sensors), but the emissions reading came in even higher after that! I have replaced the air filter and added gas & oil treatments, apparently with no success. My "check engine" light is still lit as well (codes related to Cat, O2 sensor problems). Can anyone help?!!

We'll take this one @ a time

Check the EGR make sure its getting vacuum, also all passages clean of carbons.

O2 sensor/s is it OEM parts?

If the EGR system is leaking or inoperative, it can cause driveability problems, including detonation (knocking or pinging when accelerating or under load), a rough idle, stalling, hard starting, elevated NOx emissions and even elevated hydrocarbon (HC) emissions in the exhaust.
