1999 Honda Passport oil in spark plug tubes

Did you change the valve cover bushes?

Check plug seal area for cracks.

How would I check the area for cracks would it be on the valve cover itself. I know its stupid question but what is valve cover bushes. The kit came with grommets, plug seals for top and gasket itself. My next thought was that the valve cover could be warped. Thanks for your help

The grommet at the tightening point is what we call valve cover bushes over here ;)

Btw, if your engine is not twin cam per head, you need to check the O ring under the cam holders at the plug cylinders.

The grommets were replaced also. Unfortatently it is a twin overhead cam. I hate this car, wifes car been a pain every since. From hat I understand the tubes were machined in is this true or do you know. Thanks again

For TC engines oil leakage can only be via the plug seal rings. The plug tube is moulded into the head.

Check and see if the seal rings had been dislodged. Apply some sealant to hold them in place while installing to prevent them from dropping off.

do you think that there could be a ring stuck in the hole not allowing the spark plug seal to seal when installed. And if so how could I check for that? Thanks again

Remove the coils and visually inspect with a torchlight the seal area and see if you could detect any oil coming out.

The best way is to remove the valve cover and reinstall again.
