Its miles are at 206k and its a honda lxi 1988 model. I think the problem lies within the starter area, as that is where i think something broke. i was starting it while going to work, and i hear a turn over, then a CHLUNK. this clunk was the sound of a metal thing snapping or clashing or something along those lines. and now when i try to start the car, it sounds like a humming sound.
So this is my theory, with almost no knowledge of car starters, or what is involved. the thing that does the "turn over" i think thats the term anyway, snapped. and the starter is mearly turning, at a high speed, cauing a humming sound. Now, what all would need to be fixed if this was the case? would i need a new starter? or would i need something that connects to it? all suggestions are welcome. Thank sin advance.
