Coolant overfow container always full: engine not sucking

I have to keep filling up my engine with coolant. The engine does not suck coolant from the overflow container. I have to add coolant every day directly to the radiator and top off the overflow container so the car does not overheat. I do not know what the problem is. Before the car started over heating, all of a sudden last winter, there would be no heat in the car; it was blowing cold. then it overheated one day and I added coolant and the heat worked, but i still have to add coolant several times a day of it eill overheat. Aly solutions folk?
