1991 Other Honda Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my wife has a 91 honda accord and the d4 light stays on and she hasto manually shift and it dosent go in to low gear.sorry i dont have any money now i will next 3rd. it would be a blessing if u could just tell me if it may be a sencor or mod.. wishfull thinking rite

Hi jimmy.worley, It could be a sensor or the Transmission Control Module is bad. Try to see if you can retrieve any trouble codes.

Use a paper clip to bridge the SCS and turn ignition on. If the D4 light starts to blink, count the blinks, delayed flashes = 10 and fast ones = 1. The codes would repeat in cycles till the ignition is turned off or paper clip is removed.
