Rear Window Vents

Need to check fuses 7,8 15,16. If allok, there are open and close relays for both windows. You will need to find them(behind left and right rear trim panels) verify red/white wires haev power to the relays.If so tets the motors to see if they are getting power to open , then close

I did check fuses. I hear relays near the vents. One vent does respond some but not all the time and all the way. Which panel exposes the motors? My book did not show.

Mitchell doesnt specify either... just says r/l rear trim panels. I would suspect it to be the ones directly under/behind the windows. Once you get tot eh relays, test for the trigger when trying to open/close them, this will tell if it is a relay, motor or switch problem

My haynes manual instructs that the 03 & 04 models might require a power window control unit reset when the battery is disconnected or other power loss (e.g., pulled window fuse or disconnected wiring to window controls).

- turn ignition off
- turn ignition on
- fully open driver window by pressing auto down; when it opens the whole way, hold auto down for 2 seconds.
- fully close driver window by pulling up; when it is closed the whole way, hold up for 2 seconds
- if it still doesn't work repeat the procedure

My two rear windows don't open. when i push the button i can hear the sound trying to open but they don't. i've tryed pulling/pushing but it don't seem to help. can i resolve this or i need to take it to a electrical place?

Hi RAFAELN,

If you hear the motor running but the glass are notmoving up or down, the regulators are bad and you need to send it to a mechanic, not the electrician.

Thanks for the prompt reply, but it is not the glass going up or down, i'm having issues with the two back windows/flaps that open in and out.

Sorry for the mistake. Since motors are running, it could be a fault with the linkages and is not an electrical fault. To check the linkages, you would have to remove the trims.

no problem and excuse my ignorance, but after i remove the trims, what would be the next step, what will i need to inspect directly?

After removing the trims, operate the motor and see if anything is out of the ordinary.

Ensure the windows are not stuck due to inactivity for prolonged periods. While operating the window switch, get someone to manually push the glass to assist the motor to see if it works.
