My local dealer is recommending that I have the rear differential serviced as part of my 120K mile service. According to the maintenance schedule in my owners manual and the schedule from a previous dealer (I recently moved), this does not apply to the Odyssey. As best I can tell, it only applies to 4WD vehicles like the Pilot and the CR-V. Am I being taken advantage of?

there is no mention of a 120,000 mile service for your vehicle's rear differential. i suggest asking the dealer if there is a specific reason why they think you should have it serviced

Doing a little more research on what a differential does, I am pretty confident that there is no rear differential on Honda Odysseys, since they are front wheel drive, thus requiring only a front differential. I am pretty sure I am being scammed and intend to call the dealer tomorrow about it.
