2003 Honda Odyssey clock light

the bulb behind the clock went out. dealer wanted fifty dollars to change it, as its hard to get to. is there a bulletin or some guideline that will help me to change this bulb. thanks[/quote:9d8e45d0c5]The trim for the entire instrument cluster has to be removed to replace the bulb. you can do it yourself if you take your time and ensure you remove all of the screws.

How do you remove the instrument cluster panel covers to get at the instrument panel screws?

My 2003 Odyssey instrument cluster has only two exposed screws, above the speedometer. There are two panels on the lower part of the cluster, to the l left and right of the steering wheel, that apparently cover the rest of the instrument cluster screws. I cannot get them off.

I tried with a paint scraper and small flat bladed screwdriver, but there is no area where they are loose and I don't want to break anything.

Until I get them off, I cannot remove the instrument cluster to change the bulb.

Thanks for the reply and pic but I still have the same problem. There are two (apparently snap-on) plastic panels that cover 6 of the 8 screws holding the instrument cluster in place. I do not know how to get them off without breaking them. Until I get them off, I cannot remove the 6 screws that are hidden behind them to remove the rest of the instrument cluster. I have attached photos of the two panels that are on top of the instrument cluster to show what they are. As in my earlier post, I tried prying them off with a paint scraper and small flat bladed screwdriver, but there is no give anywhere. Any suggestions?

Here are additional info you requested. DRIVER'S SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL NOTE: When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. Gently pull out on the driver's switch panel (A) to release the right clips (B), then detach the remaining clips (C). If equipped, disconnect the cruise control main switch connector (D), TCS switch connector (E), power mirror switch connector (F) and power sliding door switch connector (G), then remove the panel.

CENTER PANEL REMOVAL 1. Remove the steering column covers 2. Carefully detach the clips, then remove the center panel (A). Disconnect the heater control panel connectors (B) or climate control unit connectors, rear A/C control dial (C) (for some models) and interior light switch connector (D). With navigation system, disconnect the hazard warning switch connector, rear A/C control dial, and interior light switch connector. For '03- 04 models: Disconnect the passenger's airbag off indicator connector.
