1997 Honda Odyssey problem with injector #1

Is the spark plug dry or sooty when removed?
Are there any oil or carbon buildup on # 1 plug?
Did you test if there are any spark at end of wire?
Is the Check Engine Light showing?

i didnt check compression, but the spark plug looks a little wet,no oil or carbon buildup. i did check for spark at tthe end of the wire and i have spark check engine light only light up with the swicth on with engine running it stay off.

im thinking on the fuel regulator but i dont think the regulator wont do that on just one ingector. im hoping someone can help me im going nuts on this problem....thanks in advance

i was thinking it could be a pcm fault? what normaly is the symptoms of a faultly pcm?

PCM fault can be anything. I would suggest testing the compression first. PCM are rather hardy items and seldom give way.

In your case, if it is the PCM fault, it would not be triggering the fuel injector. Unplug injector wire and attach a test light across the terminals. Start vehicle and see if the light is working. Normally the PCM would show on the Check Engine Light if such a fault exist.

Btw do you have voltage on one of the terminals when ignition is turned to ON?

yes the plug on injector #1 has voltage.how do i check compression on this engine? i can get the compression gauge on the the plug is too deep to reach. well i give a try ..

Some compression gauge has an extension that can be screwed in.

well i replace fuel pressure regulator and swap injectors. the only thing i didnt replace was the ignition coil you think it could be the coil?

anyway im gonna loan a compression tool. my other question is whats the compression ratio for my car should be? thanks in advance

If it is the coil, it would affect all other cylinders as it is shared by them. Hee are the details for the compression.

well this is my readings on the cylinders
#1 is 60 #2 is 135 #3 is 135 #4 is 130
i put some motor oil on #1 after my first reading and the gauge on the tester goes crazy.
my question thats means is the piston rongs or the valves? thanks for all your help...

If the pressure shoots up after putting in some oil, the rings are bad.

Valve leaks would result in not much changes if you do a wet test, ie after you put oil into the cylinders. Check the valve clearances.

If the engine had been left sitting over an extended period of time, the wet test might get the engine running and the problem might cure itself when the rings starts working again.

i did the repairs myself last weekend,i replace piston rings and rod bearings. but when i was about to get everyyhing back together i found out a bend exhaust valve just one on the #1 cylinder now im in a hunt for another cylinder head on the junk yards.
i know what you been thinking but i cant afford rectifing the head so i just got to go cheap ..thanks again for all the help...

You can just buy an exhaust valve and replace it. There should be no major damage when valves gets bent, unless damage is bad.

Btw if you do replace the valves, lap all the other valves and replace the valve seals, the work will make the engine last longer.
